What's New

Dook University:  Better known as the medical group meetings, these will be held monthy, when possible, usually on a Sunday afternoon.  There will generally be a primary Topic (such as adrenal disease) and we'll touch on related subjects, plus time for the class to exchange experiences and infomation.

Play it Again:  we'll be trying to revive some member-written spots such as new member intros, new fuzzy intros, ferret of the month, memorials, ask the vet, and letters to the editor.  Send stories to the FROLIC address: FROLIC, P.O. Box 854, Stillwater, MN 55082.

If you want to join our e-mail list to find out about smaller events, short-notice events, health notices and the like, drop an e-mail to  luvfuzzies@aol.com

MN Ferret Memorial Day  Sept 24th

Some of you may remember the story of Kodo, the Michigan ferret so senselessly slaughtered in June of '97.  Minnesota has had it's own share of ferret martyrs, perhaps the best known of one being Boobala, a case fought in court in 1991.  Boobala won her case but lost her head anyway due to the malicious actions of a state health official (for the full story see Frolic newsletter Vol II, Issue II).

The Frolic Board of Directors named Sept 24th officially MN Ferret Memorial Day in honor of Boobala (beheaded Sept 24th, 1991) and all of our other MN fuzzies so senselessly slaughtered over the years due to the ignorance of mankind, including a wee one as recently as last month in Minneapolis.  Rest in Peace, little angels.

"Gone from our arms, but in our hearts forever."
